Why suffer through old-fashioned braces and corrective jaw surgery?

san-antonio-orthodontist Did you know that in some cases, it can take up to three long years of embarrassing metal braces and agonizing jaw surgeries to fully correct disfigured teeth and poor jaw alignments?

If you head to Cosmetic Dental Associates and see Dr. Moore for Invisalign or dental veneers, your total correction time could drop significantly! In fact, in some ortho cases it took less than one year to fully straighten teeth and rebuild the jaw structure.

Why should you spend your valuable time and money to be uncomfortable for years, when you can skip the whole ordeal and still get the same results?

The Smile Moore orthodontics method is 100% non-intrusive

Dr. Moore’s orthodontic method is non-intrusive, as it does not require extensive surgery to implement Invisalign or dental veneers. It is a much simpler, and much more comfortable procedure.

How does the traditional method work?

With the older method of teeth and jaw correction, you would need to wear orthodontic braces until your teeth were moved to a better position for the correctional jaw surgery to take place.
Metal braces typically take more than a year to move teeth to their desired location, and require many adjustment appointments. During these appointments the orthodontist would tighten the metal wire that sits across the braces, pushing and pulling the teeth into their new location.  However, due to the eventual correctional jaw surgery, the orthodontist has to account for how your bite will fit your teeth together, and your teeth may appear and feel out of place until the surgery has been completed.

To correct your jaw alignment the surgeon will have to essentially break your jaw in order to move the bone to the necessary position. In some cases, the surgeon may also need to make incisions and remove parts of the jaw, along with adding tiny plates to fuse the bone back together. This intrusive procedure can take up to a few hours, and you will most likely need to spend one night in the hospital to recover.
